The Eleventh Commandment - Book Review

Image
I remember buying this book a long time back and then I read it a couple of times. Then suddenly the book went missing from the book shelf but never from the thoughts. The other day when I was looking for something in mom's attic I found a few treasures and this book was one of those! I wanted to read it again and there I sat through the night and day, turning pages, biting my nails, sitting at the edge of the seat, living alongside Connor Fitzgerald! The thing with Jeffery Archer's novels is that you will be sucked into the plot or story within a few minutes and within a few pages. This book will not disappoint you for sure!! The eleventh Commandment is an espionage thriller where Connor Fitzgerald who served the country during the Vietnam War, a man devoted to his wife and daughter, a CIA operative and it takes us through the world of spying, politics, espionage across countries in a fast and thrilling manner. Black & Blue - Book Review

Image
Nowadays I read books but put off writing the review. But when I got this book as a win in an instagram give away hosted by Penguin Books, India, I made up my mind to finish off the book and do the review without delay. This book by James Patterson with Candice Fox .The cover says 'stories at the speed of life' and ;'Impossible to stop reading. All killer, no filler'.So by now you must be aware of how the story would go! It is a really quick read and I finished this book with an hour and a half. The chapter are small and is quite a page turner. The story takes place in Sydney where detective Harriet Blue works in the Sex Crime Unit.  She is handling the case relating to the Georges River killer, a notorious and elusive serial killer. She is called upon to a crime scene where she finds out that she is 'teamed' with Tate Barnes popularly known as Tox.He is not welcome anywhere in the department and anyone who teams with him is committing a career sui

The Fault In Our Stars - Book Review

Image
This book is for the 2016 Monthly Key Word Reading Challenge   @ My Soul Called Life . There are 6 keywords to choose from each month which should be in the title of the book. For February, the key words were - Veil, Kiss, Her, Break, Love, Stars. I chose stars and hence this book... I got this book because I wanted to see what the hype was behind this book. When I posted the pic on Instagram yesterday, I got comments that this book would make me cry for sure!! First of all let me tell you that this is just my view and it is not my intention to hurt anyone's feeling! Why this disclaimer ,you ask? Well, by far, I have only seen rave reviews of this book and everyone was sort of went gaga over it.But did I feel that way?? The story is about two teenage kids who are affected by cancer. It is all about their lives, the support group they attend, life of friends from the support group, their romance and dreams and so on. I knew this would be a quick read and yes, it was!

Second Spring - Book Review

Image
Second Spring is Sandhya Jane's debut novel. It is a contemporary love story set in Mumbai and then shifts to the US. This book was sent by BlogAdda for review.I had some free time today and sat down to  read this book. It is a modern love story that has hints of traditionalism within it.The story revolves around Avantika and Rohan. Avantika is a smart and successful single mom.She is in the banking profession and is held in admiration and awe by her peers. Life spins around her work and her little boy. She is content or makes it look like she is content with the things as it is in her life. In walks Mr. Handsome aka Rohan. He is a part of her clients team and later shifts base to her office. He is six years her junior and also a smart and intelligent guy because of which Avantika feels with a little mentoring he will be her successor. Right from day 1 both feel drawn towards each other. Avantika and Rohan are not sure if it is love or the care for each other

Treasures from the attic....

It all started when Lil Angel asked me to get buy her a copy of Black Beauty.Apparently she had seen it in her library and before she could finish the book she was reading and pick it up , the library period got over and she had to leave the book on the shelf. I remembered having a copy of the book and I promised to get it for her when we went to mom's place for the weekend. And when we went there, I was sure to remove the box of books from the attic. I still have a lot of my stuff at mom's place but I brought back a lot of books to my place. Still there are random boxes of my stuffs that have a couple of books in it. These are the treasures that I found in a couple of boxes in the attic... The Prophet was the book that I picked up,or rather, got it picked up by Dad's colleague, when our French Language Professor introduced us to a whole lot of books from this genre.I was so smitten by the way he read out the verses that I had to buy this book. And since it was out of st
