The Costa Affair - Lisa Fantino | Book Review
Review of Lisa Fantino's The Costa Affair
The
Costa Affair is a thriller centered on the Art world. Nick Costa, a well-known
Art dealer, and collector, goes missing and Detective Maggie Flynn takes on the
case and solves it.
Though
this is the second book in the series, it was good to read as a standalone. I
did not read the previous book and it did not matter!
I loved
the strong female lead and her confidence and determination to get the case
solved. However, I wish the author had given Maggie’s character some situation
where she is in danger or someplace where her life is threatened so that it
could increase the thrill around the character.
This
novel not only talks about the circumstance of the crime and how it got solved
but also shows us the ugly side of the Art world. It also sheds light on how
money laundering takes place, forgery, etc.
For me,
this book was a little slow and I took some time to finish it. But overall, a
good read with a strong female lead and thrill that also takes you around the
good and bad side of the Art world.
Thanks to the Author and #LoveBookTours for the review copy.
