As a busy
mom who packs two lunches daily, I was excited to discover this book's
potential for tasty and healthy lunchbox inspiration. New ideas are always
welcome, and I was eager to explore the sample meal plans.
The
"How to Pack a Lunchbox" chapter dives into what to pack and how to
arrange it for visual appeal, health benefits, and overall interest.
Following
this are 6 sections brimming with over 40 lunchbox ideas. Options are aplenty,
including small snacks, sandwiches, sweet treats like pancakes and waffles,
pasta and noodle dishes, Indian-inspired fare, roti sabzi combinations, and
various mixed rice ideas.
Each
lunchbox concept comes with a brief menu introduction. Ingredient lists and
step-by-step instructions accompany each recipe, along with portion details and
suggestions for substitutions and variations.
Vivid
pictures showcase the different lunchbox menus, showing us the different ways of
packing them.
Except for a
few egg-containing options, all recipes are vegetarian. The simple menus boast
quick prep times, saving precious morning minutes.
The
straightforward nature of the menus allows for easy planning and packing.
Preparation doesn't require excessive time thus streamlining the morning
routine.
You will
find South Indian, North Indian, and international flavors within these meal
plans. The book also offers creative solutions for including fruits and
vegetables, a common challenge for moms of picky eaters.
The book comes with colorful meal planner sheets, and I've already charted out a week's worth of lunchbox ideas.
This is a wonderful and resourceful book that will help moms pack healthy and delicious lunches their kids will love. Go for it.
Archana Doshi founded Archana's Kitchen in 2007, and it soon grew into India's leading food and recipe platform. Over two decades later, Archana's Kitchen has more than 10 million users across her website, YouTube channel, social media pages and mobile app.
