They were cousins who shared decades of secrets.

And now one of them is dead.

Britta Baxter, beloved fitness influencer and estranged wife of a surgeon, gave up city life to start anew on their grandma’s property overlooking Lake Shetek in southwestern Minnesota. After she convinces her cousin, Maxine Thomsen, to revisit the same lake where they’d spent their summers together as kids, Maxine is shocked to learn the boy she loved as a teenager lives across the same quaint bay. Although repairing the decades-old relationship between Maxine and Noah seems possible, a dark ending has already been set in place.

When Britta’s body is discovered floating in the bay, Detective Josephine Kelly is called in to assist in the murder investigation. With a near-perfect record, Detective Kelly's sharp instincts rarely lead her astray. Once she senses something is amiss in the neighborhood, she’ll apprehend a suspect no one saw coming.

But Britta isn’t the only victim on the killer’s list, and the body count is about to rise.

Right Across the Bay is an unputdownable thriller fraught with life-changing twists and unfathomable secrets rooted in a shadowy past

Rating -  5🌟

The gripping tale begins with the shocking discovery of Maxine's cousin and best friend, Britta's body, pulled out from the lake. From this harrowing moment, the narrative launches into a whirlwind of deceit and suspense, taking readers on a thrilling roller coaster ride.

The relentless pursuit to unravel the truth behind the murders will keep you eagerly turning the pages, unable to put the book down. I found myself completely engrossed, finishing the book in just a couple of hours. The story is full of suspense, filled with unexpected twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end.

What sets this narrative apart is its expertly crafted narration, which seamlessly weaves together present events with flashbacks from various points in time and different points of view. The characters are vividly drawn, each with their own complexities and motivations. From Molly and Beth to Noah and Detective Kelly, they all contribute to the enthralling journey, though Noah and Kelly emerge as personal favorites.

The author's descriptive prowess brings every scene and situation to life, immersing readers in the unfolding drama. And the ending, a culmination of carefully laid clues and shocking revelations, ties everything together in a satisfying and unexpected conclusion.

Overall, I give this book a solid 5-star rating for its fast-paced narrative, multiple perspectives, and intricate timelines that kept me hooked until the final page. If you're a fan of mystery and thrillers, this is a must-read that deserves a place on your bookshelf.
